FAB FOUR MIX NOTES is dedicated to exploring and documenting the recording and mixing process behind the music of the Fab Four. Dive deep into the signal chains, uncover details about the instruments they played, and examine the studio gear that helped craft their iconic sound. From microphones to tape machines, amplifiers to effects units, we break down how each element was dialed in to shape the tone, texture, and feel of every track.

Our goal is to write engaging content that is inspiring to both audio engineers, artists, and Beatles fans alike. We research, compile details, and write content relevant to the Beatles recording sessions. It’s our hope to not only share the historical significance of the Beatles recording techniques, but more. Our aim is to also tell the stories, tease out relevant insights, and propose practical pro audio methods and exercises.

As we learn and gain in our knowledge, we will update the pages and posts. If we have a fact wrong we will update the information. Stories will strengthen in time as we better understand the context and perspectives. This is a space for discovery for not only you but also for us.
